Welcome to Fakenham Charities
Fakenham Charities is a collective of charities whose roots date back to 1647 and incorporates some of the town's famous names such as Townshend and Goggs. The charity was established to support two key areas. The first is to support those “in need”, distress or financial hardship, and the second is to support educational grants. Students of Fakenham can also apply for a bursary from the charity to support their education in university. We pride ourselves for being able to consider most applications as we do not rely on grants from any authority and are not restricted by any terms from funding.
The charity is self-sufficient, and although donations are gratefully received, our funding is generated from income on our investments. Fakenham Charities has supported many grants over the years for items such as school uniforms, furniture, washing machines and even funerals. We support residents of Fakenham and Hempton, and will consider applications from students seeking support from a wider area.
Each application is treated with the strictest confidentiality and information is only shared with the trustees of the charity.
The trustees usually meet on the first Tuesday of January, April, July and October. Applications will be reviewed at these quarterly meetings, however if your application is urgent, we can review these quicker if required.
The charity is here to support those in a time of need, and we would encourage anyone to contact us for any support you require.
